Home Theater Loving

A couple years ago, projectors were a really big thing when it came to building an ultimate home theater room in your house.  With TV tech evolving so much though, there has been less excitement around projectors.  With that being said, the BenQ W1060 Projector over at TechReviews should still turn a few heads as it is a great option for native 1920x1080 output and is bright enough and has enough inputs for many people.

Perhaps one of the things you can plug into your projector or any TV is the new Apple TV reviewed over at MissingRemote.  I know, I know... Apple.  Right?  Then why not check out the Noontec MediaHome V8 over at HardwareLook.  Even though I'm not an Apple fan, the interface and functions look much better on the device from Cupertino.

If you want to wirelessly connect your laptop to your TV, there are a few solutions - including the Warpia Easy Dock Pro SWP220 over at TechwareLabs.  This little device can hook to to a spare VGA or HDMI port on your favorite TV or projector and seems to work pretty well.

Motherboard Roundup

As we wrap up this late edition of news for a fine Tuesday, we've got a bunch of motherboard reviews scrapped up from around the web.  With the diverse sockets and sizes, there is something for everyone.

Game. On

As we kick off the news for Monday, we've got a few game reviews - mostly from HardwareHeaven as they have a hard time getting into gear on a Monday and would rather be playing.  They've got Rayman Orgins on the PSV and Total War: Shogun 2 as well as Blacklight Retribution on the PC.  On the console side of things, they bring us Twisted Metal for the PS3 and Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City for the Xbox.  All-in-all there is some good gaming fun.

Photoshop CS6 Beta Available

Adobe has opened up the beta for Photoshop CS6 and it's been going like hot-cakes.  There are a ton of feature enhancements, improvements and some wizardry all taking place behind the scenes as it allows you to manipulate (easily) almost anything in your image and gives you the ability to rearrange anything and everything seamlessly.  You can take crappy pictures and pass them off as masterpieces with this program.  In a way, I'm kind of opposed to this idea, but I guess it's progress.  Go download the beta (for free) over here.  Of course, Adobe is hoping you'll get hooked and buy the full version later.

Content-Aware Patch — Patch images with greater control using the newest member of the Content-Aware family of technologies. Choose the sample area you want to use to create your patch, and then watch Content-Aware Patch magically blend pixels for a stunning result.
Blazingly fast performance and a modern UI — Experience unprecedented performance with the Mercury Graphics Engine, which gives you near-instant results when you edit with key tools such as Liquify, Puppet Warp, and Crop.* Plus, a refined, fresh, and elegant Photoshop interface features dark background options that make your images pop.
New and re-engineered design tools — Create superior designs fast. Get consistent formatting with type styles, create and apply custom strokes and dashed lines to shapes, quickly search layers, and much more.

Nokia Lumia 900 Coming for under $100

Nokia is investing heavily in Windows Phone 7 (or Microsoft is investing heavily in Nokia), and the Lumia 900 is the "big one" that we've been waiting for.  The cost of the device was a mystery until AT&T announced that it would be available on a 2-year contract for $99.  That is great news and with a bold move like that, may actually get some people to try WP7 and Nokia - again.  CNET has more info.

here's a lot at stake with this launch. Nokia badly needs a buzz-worthy hit product in the U.S., a market it has struggled to operate in over the last few years despite dominating early in the cellphone business. AT&T hopes the 4G LTE-capable Lumia 900 will spark interest in its still new next-generation network. Microsoft, meanwhile, needs any Windows Phone to succeed in the market and establish some legitimacy to its platform.

Tablet War!

HardwareLook has posted up their review of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 recently and gives us their take on the 1GHz Dual-Core tablet running Android 3.1 Honeycomb.  Overall, it has some nice features, but if you want something a little more impressive, check out the Transformer Prime Android 4.0 ICS over at HardwareHeaven.  This thing is a sweet beast.

Transformer Prime

As with its predecessor, the Transformer TF101, the Transformer Prime can transform with the addition of the keyboard from tablet PC form factor to laptop. The keyboard dock also contains a second battery which adds up to six hours extra battery life. While connected the battery in the keyboard charges the battery in the tablet, making the tablet battery always 100% while the keyboard battery has any charge left.
