Testing and Installation:

So before we begin installation of the Silent Shark I would like to mention the fact that this cooler's installation instructions come on the side of the box (no installation manual included). This in theory seems like a good idea and saves paper; however, I found that there are a couple steps where you are installing the hardware onto the heatsink in order to get it ready to install that become a little trickier as a result of the lack of detailed instructions. The lack of instructions doesn't make it impossible to install this cooler, it just makes it a little more difficult and might result in you putting the hardware together wrong and finding out that it won't fit onto your motherboard and having to redo a couple steps.

Ok, so after a few minutes I had everything together and ready to mound onto the motherboard. As you can see in the pictures below, you are going to have to remove the 4 screws on the top of the heatsink and remove the fans in order to get the heatsink mounted.

So now that we have heatsink all installed we can finally see the adjustable 2nd fan in action. In the pictures below you can see how this works and it obviously provides additional airflow to your memory which is never a bad thing.

In the next set of pictures we can see that even though the Silent Shark is a big cooler, everything fits nicely and there should be any issues on most motherboard. The one thing that might get you into trouble is if you have memory with big fins on the top which could interfere with the 2nd fan on the Silent Shark.
