Hot on the heels of the Water 2.0 Pro, we are now taking a look at the little-brother - the Water 2.0 Performer. This kit is like a runty twin in that the fans, pump, tubing and water-block are all the same. The only difference between these two kits is the radiator size. Both of these kits accept a single 120mm fan on each side and support all current and last-generation CPUs. In this review we'll cover the features and specifications of the unit but we'll skimp a bit on some of the installation and such as it is identical to the Water 2.0 Pro.
When I first received this kit, I thought Thermaltake made a mistake because the box looked identical to the Water 2.0 Pro. The only difference is in the image that shows a unit with a slightly thicker radiator and of course the change in name from the Pro to the Performer. This is not a bad thing though as the Thermaltake Water 2.0 Pro is a great all-inclusive kit. Both of these kits are fully ready to go and are very easy to install as we covered in the previous review.
The Water 2.0 Performer comes with absolutely everything you need to get this kit installed and running quickly and quite easily. Although it only includes a single back-plate for Intel systems, it is pretty universal for 775, 1156 and 1366 systems. Included in the kit are a couple of 120mm fans and all the hardware you'll need as well as instructions to get everything worked out.
The pump and water-block are combined into a single unit and this is pretty slim compared to the pumps and water-blocks of yesterday. This unit has a pretty decent finish and comes pre-applied with a TIM to make installation super simple. As you can see in the image below, there are some machining marks on the block so if you took some time to lap this unit; you'd probably be able to shave a few more degrees off the temperatures.
