Introduction:
For years Noctua, an Austrian company, has been producing cooling solutions with great detail to noise and functionality. In partnership with Taiwanese operated Kolink International Corporation, both companies have come to make great products such as the highly popular NH-U12F heatsink, NF-R8, and NF-S12 case fans. In this review, I’ll be putting these fans up to test, to see if they have what it takes to perform against a traditional sleeve-bearing case fan.
I would like to add that the testing will majorly consist of the S12-800 and S12-1200 fans as the test bed does not accept 80mm fans. We have recorded the rotation speed of the 80mm fan for added data.
Packaging:
Noctua has a natural color scheme when it comes to their packaging and product design. The brown box instantly shouts “Noctua” and cannot be mistaken for any other cooling product, unless you are looking really hard.
Both the R8 and the S12 come with the same packaging contents which include the following:
- NF-R8 or NF-S12 Fan
- 4 Fan Mounting Screws
- 4 Plastic Mounting Tabs
- 3 Pin to 4 Pin Molex Connector
- 2 x 3 Pin U.L.N.A Cables
