|Final Thoughts and Conclusion|
It's been a while since we've had a Zalman cooler on the bench, however if the past performance of Zalman coolers are any indication of how the new CNPS9900 LED cooler will perform, we should be very happy with the end result.
The Zalman CNPS9900 LED is a new twist on the previous CNPS9900 NT. The previous CNPS9900 NT was a nickel plated copper cooler with a green LED, and the new CNPS9900 LED is now a pure copper heatsink with a blue LED fan. The design of the CNPS9900 NT and the CNPS9900 LED are the same, and both coolers have a unique design when compared to most other coolers that are available.
Let's take a closer look at the Zalman CNPS9900 LED.
At first glance you'll notice that the CNPS9900 LED is a pretty attractive looking cooler, and a nice change from the popular tower cooler that has become popular in the past couple years. A cooler like the CNPS9900 LED would be a popular choice for someone with a case that has a window thanks to its cool design.
In the pictures below you'll see that the CNPS9900 LED comes with a plastic shield installed (I'm assuming to avoid shipping damage). You can run your cooler with this shield installed if you're worried about things getting in the fan (although you'll notice a performance decrease), but I'm going to guess that 99% of buyers will remove the shield for performance and appearance reasons.
The accessories included with the CNPS9900 LED will give you everything you need to get the cooler installed, in addition, they've included a full bottle of thermal paste, so if you need to move the cooler or reapply the paste down the road you'll have more than enough extra paste.
