Introduction:

Today we'll be taking a look at the Thermaltake Ladon gaming mouse pad.  As you know, Thermaltake is well known for their computer cases, high end CPU and GPU cooling systems and power supplies.  Also on the market, Thermaltake has expanded their brand into Tt eSPORTS which feature high end gaming keyboards, mice, mouse pads and headphones.  Let's take a look at the new Thermaltake Ladon gaming mouse pad.

First Impression:

The Thermaltake Ladon gaming mouse pad comes in Thermaltakes standard mousepad packaging.  The flat-black box with diamond plate graphics along with the tattoo-worthy tribal dragons let you know "this is Thermaltake".  The box has a small cut out asking you to "feel the difference".  Now, let's take the Thermaltake Ladon gaming mouse pad out of the box and see if you can truly feel the difference.

Graphics

Once out of the box the first thing that caught my eye was the tightly woven cloth pattern and graphics of the main surface.  The tightness and the pattern give the Ladon an extremely smooth feel.  The pattern looks very much like carbon fiber and feels just as strong.  The red tribal dragon and Ladon logo adds to look making you feel you have a pro gaming mouse pad.  The underside of the Thermaltake Ladon has a coating of very soft, silicone-like material that almost has a sticky feeling that should prevent the pad from moving during hardcore gaming sessions.

The corners of the Ladon are rounded and there is threading all the way around.  One thing I noticed was that this threading is not consistent.  The lower right corner has a couple of mis-threads and in other areas around the edge there were a couple of frayed threads.

On the next page we'll take a look at the features and specifications of the Ladon before we jump into testing.
