|Testing and Final Thoughts|
Who does not have at least one pair of on-ear headphones? They are OK but often they do not stay on when you bend over to tie your shoe or are very active. Often, the sound quality is not the greatest either. If you are still clinging to your old headphones, today you may consider throwing them away and picking up a pair of Sennheiser Momentum on-ear headphones. This German company has once again shown us why their products are worth the price. Sound, Bass, and Style are just some of the reasons why these headphones are worth buying. Read on to find out more.
These come packaged in a custom foam box and have a home in the included carrying case. While these little details don’t make the product better, this attention to detail reflects in more than just the packaging.
Inside the carrying case, you will find two audio cables in addition to the sweet-looking Momentum headphones. One cable has a volume control with microphone (for newer Apple products) and the other is a simple straight-through audio cable. Unfortunately, the non-Apple cable doesn't have any sort of volume control built-in. While this isn't the worst thing I've seen, it is a bit annoying that Apple products have a cable that is more functonal that the cable for everyone else.
The Sennheiser Momentum comes in your choice of seven colors (Blue, Green, Ivory, Pink, Red, Black and Brown). The ear pieces are covered and the part of the headband are covered in comfy Alcantara. This material lasts as long as leather and is easier to clean than suede. Also to note, that it is also used as flame retardant seat covers on Formula One race cars. Your headphones - no matter how hot they sound – won't burst into flames.
Alcantara Covered Earpads
As well as the Alcantara covered bits, Sennheiser uses stainless steel on the lower half of the band with steel sliders for adjustment. This leather/steel look gives the Momentum headphones a sophisticated style.
These other pictures show the attention to detail Sennheiser dedicates to its products and this in turn gives us headphones that look as good as we hope they sound.
On the next page we'll cover some features and the specifications of these headphones before we jump into testing.
