Introduction:

Today I have in front of me, the Roccat Raivo gaming mouse pad. Now anyone who knows Roccat knows that they make very good quality Mice, Keyboards, Pads, Headsets and more. The Raivo itself has two sides; the mouse surface - which is decorated with Roccat's logo, including the name of the produc,t and on the flipside - the gripping back. Here is a quick peek at the product package.

First Impression:

When you first look at the Raivo mouse pad, you glean a host of delightful sights. The packaging - as with Roccat's other products, is great.  It has the classic clamshell plastic case that thankfully doesn't require a knife or scissors to open.  There is also the fancy slip cover that shows off the company's logo and the features and specifications of the product.

After unleashing this beast from the package, you can see the great design of the Raivo. The design extends from the lively graphics on the front to the terrific gripping on the back. You can see that this pad is not just business, but it also offers some eye candy. Even the shape adds to the overall appeal - kind of like a reverse mullet - party in the front and business in the back.

Pad Bottom Closeup

The Raivo pleases more than just the eyes. When you run your hand over the top you feel how little resistance there is. The texture on the bottom is pretty much a polar opposite. It appears that it will give a good grip onto the surface on which it will rest.

One physical attribute that I like about the Raivo is that this pad is not the conventional rectangle. Instead, it has nicely curved corners and a stylish indentation found at the bottom, with the "hump day" with this pad.

On the next page, we'll cover the features and specifications of the Raivo before we continue through testing.
