Conclusion:

At the end of the day, the ITX case market is pretty small - and so in the form factor. There are some ITX cases that are so limited in terms of expansion and others that are the same size as their mATX and ATX counterparts that don't really offer any advantages. The Legacy V3 Plus-B is a great size, has amazing clean looks and offers a lot of expansion. While it won't support super large graphics cards, it does support standard cards as well as standard power supplies. This gives great flexibility to your small ITX build.

The Legacy V3 Plus-B is a solid product as it is the perfect middle-ground between size and function. With that in mind, there are a couple of drawbacks. The fanless design of the case is wonderful and the aluminum case helps dissipate heat, but if you have a graphics card and intend on using it for many long hours of gaming, you'll need to make sure your PSU can handle the heat-load and if it will be able to provide adequate ventilation to the system. The only other drawback is the small clearance between a standard 3.5-inch hard drive and a standard two-slot cooled graphics card. There is room for sure, but the drive restricts some airflow and will make the card run hotter.

Rear Installed

I's pretty hard to argue with good looks and decent performance though. As you can see in the images on this page, the case - all installed and ready to go - is a looker. It has a very sleek and attractive design that does exactly what it's supposed to do. It provides a silent enclosure for systems that don't put out a lot of heat. While it not perfect for high-end gaming systems, neither is the ITX platform so it really doesn't matter.

Front Profile

What you get with the Rosewill Legacy V3 Plus-B is a solid case that has a nice array of features, a compact size, room to expand beyond your ITX motherboard in terms of video cards and other add-in cards. It does this while looking great and at a price that you'll be able to afford.

Pros:

  • All aluminum case
  • Rubber feet and pads for hard drives
  • Supports one 2.5-inch and one 3.5-inch drive
  • Very compact design
  • Fits standard PSU and graphics cards under 18cm length
  • Good value
  • USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 support

Cons:

  • Dual USB support requires two cables adding to the crowded interior
  • Fanless design limits components inside
  • Very little space between 3.5-inch HDD and Graphics Card

Ever though there are a couple of things making this case not quite perfect for every situation, for many ITX builds it simply is the perfect case. It has incredible looks, is very solid and is very compact and at the same time it still can hold standard PC components. It may not be golden, but it is certainly a solid choice for anyone looking to build a quite HTPC.
