Android App Pick - The Weather Network

Application: The Weather Network

I say “Burr, its cold in here, there must be some Android nerds in the atmosphere!” It’s been freakishly cold these last few days and even though my phone has weather updates from Google when I have location enabled, I thought I’d check out and see if the Weather Network had an app, and yes it does! It’s certainly interesting and handy; you can even use a widget for easy viewing.

The app will let you know if severe storms are impending and will warn you. There are also weekly, daily and even hourly temperature forecasts. Knowing what the weather is supposed to be will help you plan ahead. It doesn’t show air quality of UV index reports, but if you tap on the grid in the top left, a few more options appear. You can check out videos, sharing, and other forecasts. Swipe right and it brings you multiple towns that you have selected. Press and hold on a city, and swipe it away to remove it from the list. Thankfully, you can view the temperatures in Celsius or Fahrenheit – Metric or Imperial.
