Facebook Messenger hits 1.2 Billion Users
If you like Facebook Messenger or not, you've still got to admit that them hitting 1.2 Billion users is a very impressive feat. When you consider the world's population is 7.5 Billion that fact that number is even more impressive. WhatsApp has a similar amount of users, which of course is also a Facebook property. Instagram has surged to 600 million users, which is impressive but when you compare it to the competition they've still got a ways to go. CNET has the full story.
Facebook Messenger appears to have made it to the big time.
The social media company said Wednesday its messaging app now has 1.2 billion people actively using the service every month -- that's a big chunk of the world's 7.5 billion population.
"I keep on hearing powerful stories about how our product is becoming a more important part of your daily lives," David Marcus, head of Messaging products at Facebook, wrote in a post. "So from all of us here at Messenger, a heartfelt thank you."
