Intel Shows Off 9th-gen Ice-Lake Core Processors

Intel has had to do a fair bit of scrambling since AMD announced and subsequently launched their "Threadripper" CPUs. AMD is doing very well and the pressure that Intel is under to answer the call is pretty interesting. Right off the bat, Intel bumped up voltages and speed on their current CPUs to make them sound better, but they didn't do anything else. The Ice-Lake CPUs will be manufactured at 10nm+ (10nm or larger - a very grey/broad statement) and offer better performance and efficiency - something that AMD is rocking right now.

The company has been trying its hand at a die shrink to 10nm for a while now and despite numerous delays, it will be interesting to see what Intel will come up with, especially as AMD is quickly catching up in the performance department with the recent releases of its Ryzen and Threadripper series.
