CWS Solutions:

As we carried on through the morning, we took a look at some storage and backup solutions from CWS.  They have a few different products, but the ones that caught our eye are the portable storage device as well as the desktop storage device.  Both of these units come with software and hard drive pre-installed and are in fact backup solutions, not merely enclosures for the end-user to build their own solution.

These products come in sizes ranging from 40GB to 160GB for the portable unit and 80GB to 750GB for the desktop unit.  There are a couple of other features worth mentioning as well.  The portable unit employs a standard PATA 2.5" HDD and can be used to do a full file mirror of a system.  Once that is done, it performs incremental backups to speed up the backup process and save space on the device.  The same is true of the 3.5" device as well.  This drive can actually be removed the enclosure and place in your system for immediate restoration in the advent that your main drive fails.

Super Talent:

Next up we stopped by Super Talent to see what was new and interesting from the American Manufactured and produced memory company.  They have a huge number of flash storage products on display including USB flash drives, flash based media players and more.  They also have their own DDR2 DIMMS and DDR2 SODIMMS at the show and are looking to broaden their market in Canada.  That is a good thing for us for sure!  Hopefully we can acquire some samples for reviewing later.  They have some pretty mean looking RAM.

Super Talent invited us to a after hours party on Wednesday evening and we may see more from them at that time.

Transcend:

Also on the topic of memory products and more - we stopped by Transcend as well.  They are greatly growing and have a number of items at their booth.  Nothing seems really groundbreaking, but it was neat to see all the products they have a hand in.

Transcend has some pretty hefty heatspreaders on some of their DDR2.  This memory is geared toward the overclocker and we are hopefully going to be able to take a look at it and compare it to other RAM we have on the bench.
