Title: Nintendo Continues to Game Demand
Post by: Zeus on September 12, 2017, 12:10:03 pm
I'm sure when it comes to market research, there is a point that companies try and hit where short supply increases demand and therefore you sell everything you make - and quickly. Nintendo is perhaps the king of this behaviour and they continue to short the supply in order to increase demand. While it's all good and fine to have a lot of demand for your product, I can't help but think they could make more money if they actually produced the number of consoles, or classic consoles, that people want. Already, they are saying they won't be able to make enough Switch consoles for the holiday season. I say, RAMP UP PRODUCTION! Geez man. You've got months. It's not rocket science.

"Certainly the demand is there and the supply chain is there. Can we do more? It depends on our ability to make more," he added. "We don't want to have a consumer disappointed by not being able to get one for the holiday season. But managing that complex supply chain is a challenge." Oh no, it looks like we should be feeling bad for Nintendo because it has a hit on its hands. Quite frankly we do not have any sympathy for the firm and its hit console.Source: TheInquirer (https://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/news/3017082/nintendo-warns-of-holiday-season-switch-shortages)
