Mac App Store to Open January 6th 2:36
It’s one of those ideas that we all wish we would have thought up and patented - an App-Store for computers.  Apple is set to release their Mac-App Store on the first day of CES and yes it will be a big deal.  Steam is super popular for gaming and such a store for Macs would be a great idea.  Too bad I didn’t think of it first.

LG Optimus 2x – The World’s First Dual Core Smartphone 11:14
It is no secret that mobile phones are evolving at a rate much faster than other computer hardware right now, and LG is the first company to bring dual-core to their phones.  It is powered by the Tegra 2 NVIDIA processor and shows a LOT of promise.  I may skin the Nexus S and look into one of these.

Dual-screen Android Tablet from NEC 16:43
The Nintendo DS is “DS” for the Dual-Screen and after looking at the NEC DS Android Tablet, I think more about Nintendo’s next offering more than I think about a usable PC/Tablet platform.  Still, it looks pretty cool and the possibilities are starting to grow.

Is Yahoo shutting down Delicous? 22:13
Yahoo’s list of bad acquisitions has recently been mounting and one property that they are looking at getting rid of is delicious – as in delicious.com  This is a social bookmarking site that we use a lot here at WeeklyTechUpdate.com and BCCHardware.com – In fact you can always take a look at some of our upcoming stories over at www.delicious.com/bcchardware  Now you see why it is so handy?

2010 – What We Expected and What We Got 27:44
There were a lot of expectations in 2010 that never really lived up to what we hoped, and a few that surprised us with how popular they were.  Take a look at PCMag’s list and see if you agree.  We highlight a few good once like the Microsoft Kin (not!).

25% of PC Users Disable Antivirus 33:06
It’s sad when Antivirus software sucks so bad that people would rather face a bill of several hundred dollars instead of letting it mire their system to a crawl.  Good antivirus isn’t that hard to come by, but your local PC shop isn’t going to tell you what is good.  They are going to tell you what makes them money.  Free tip for the end of 2010? Microsoft Security Essentials.  It’s free and fast!
