Lan Party for Dec
« on: November 10, 2003, 04:02:04 pm »
Hello everyone,
as we all get closer to the end of the year and have to get shopping for christmas and spend all our money on our loved ones....there is also the exciting time for us gamers to get together and have one final bash for a LAN Party. I've talked to D-Man about it and I'll do what i did for the last LAN PArty and throw out a date! the best thing to do is just let me know when you can make it and then best determine what weekend will be best! I was thinking that either the weekend of the 20th or the 27th would be better as most ppl are still shopping at the fisrt of the month. i suggested after xmas cause most ppl will still be around town. I'll start a poll and if you choose other just let me know what day would be better!

I'm not sure how the poll thing works so i decided to remove it unless its easier to keep track of how many ppl can make it for certain dates.!
i can start one afterwards. looking forward to getting some feed back!

I think for sure there will be bf 1942 now as to which one thats always something we can agree on later. we can play ut if everyone wants too. the only way we will find out what to play and when is if people actually reply to this! i don't think just looking at it will help. so if you guys can tell people that we are trying to plan for one. the sooner we get some replys the sooner we can get everything else planned.

I'm always up for a LAN party, probably I would vote for the 20th

and I will give BF1942 a vote too, since its really one of the only FPS multi-player games that I've been playing

I think the 20th is a good date, probably anything after the 25th and before new years is most likely out for me

What about doing the 2 game deal, 3-4 hrs on ut2003 then kill the server then play the battlefield game(s).. Only one server on at a time so ppl cant switch back and forth. As for the bf deal I would have to go buy it...Anybody want to trade splinter cell  for bf ?? real or not lmk

Seeker don't worry about gettin BF.....
as for only having one sever going at one time is a good idea! D-Man will be putting up a post that you all may find very exciting. i won't leak any info out but it looks as though this LAN may be one of the best yet!!! looking forward to seeing you all there!!!!

Lets have an Unreal Tournament "Clasic" Lan Party. I would have to reinstall the game, but I know it would be worth it :).

Well boys I know your all excited about gaming it up once again but I do have some news that will affect this LAN party and ones in the future. Pat from Threads N Motion and I had a talk last night (fri) and decided that with the changes that have taken place @ Threads N Motion (new equipment and showroom area) that it was time for us to find a slightly larger area for our 15-20 gamers that are becoming regulars.I aggreed with him completely and thanked him for a great run as he has done more for VulClan than any other person.I did have a very interesting chat with a gamer from Arrowwood (his name escapes me at the moment) that there should be a VulClan vs Arrowwood LAN at some point soon.I can see this as a great time to broaden our horizons. He mentioned that there is a hall in Arrowwood that was very rentable for about $75.00 a day.I know myself I would be glad to pay $10.00 + pizza for the chance to game it up for 14 hours the value of entertainment for that price is cheap these days.

So let me know what you think here in the fourm

Is there anywhere in vulcan that is available for rent (hall on main street, Legion ballroom, CRC even) just for sake of closeness as a good majority of the people that come to our lan parties are from vulcan.

I don't mind driving to arrowwood, it might even be a good idea as there are a few from there that would come

Well the goal for this LAN party is to have equal teams like 10 on 10 for this lan party. so there would be just as many from arrowwood as from vulcan. and if the case is that there are more from vulcan we would just even the teams out. so i don't think it really matters where we have it people will have to travel. I have to travel 4 hrs just to come down for the lan so i don't think that a 30 mins drive is going to be that hard. we can always arrange for people to travel with others to save on gas. I think that this is a good opportunity for us guys and girls from vulcan to show arrowwood that the coalition won't take crap from no one!
