Google Earth Gets an Overhaul

Google has been hard at work making Google Earth better than ever. There was a time when people spent quite of bit of bandwidth flying over the virtual earth and enjoying all the wonders of the world. That novelty passed and the quality wasn't all that good really. Times have changed and Google has been upping their game. Take a look and see some great detail of remote places from around the world.

   When Google Earth first launched in 2005, it quickly became a beloved resource for teachers, scientists, humanitarian groups and armchair travelers. But as new tech -- augmented reality, virtual reality and 3D graphics -- became more present in people's lives, Google Earth's shine began to fade.
