Psystar releases Rebel EFI installer, further enrages Apple 5:49
In a move that does nothing else than to piss off Apple, Psystar releases a bit of paid software that will help you install Snow Leopard or any other modern Apple OS on your Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad or Core i7 machine.  It should go a long way to help people realize that Apple is all about the hardware – and the software is an afterthought.

Microsoft pulls out of the Family Guy Episode. 10:41
Microsoft suddenly realized that the Family Guy doesn’t really fit with the Microsoft brand and poking fun at minority groups, hygiene and a whole lot more nasty.  It would be hilarious to see if Apple came along and sponsored the episode instead.  More information over here.

DSi LL: Nintendo supersizes its gaming handheld 13:56
It appears that the LL or XL DSi will merely be a screen size upgrade and at this point it doesn’t even appear that the resolution will be any better.  This is likely in response to the poor sales of the DSi and they are trying to make it different enough to purchase.  I’m waiting for the Tegra version.

DirectX 11 Comes to Vista 15:00
Those of you that want to play the latest games on your 5000 series card from ATI, but haven’t upgraded to Vista, you can now install DX11 on your Vista rig.  It’s official and from Microsoft. KB971644 DX11 Update - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971644

AMD 12-Core “Magny Cours” Samples Up And Running. 23:19
AMD shows off its new 12-core platform that can run a couple of CPUs for an easy 3GHz x 12 core = 36GHz of machine under one hood.  That should impress any server farm or virtualization junkie.  I’d love to try and run 6 different OS’s virtually on this chip – allotting two cores to each.  It would be incredible.

AMD Upcoming Phenom II X2 555 BE Overclocked to 6.6GHz 28:48
It appears that AMD may have an overclocking winner in their near future.  Their upcoming 3.2GB X2 555 BE managed to top the scales at 6.6GHz on Liquid Nitrogen.  This obviously isn’t practicle but what amazes me is the fact that it is on a Biostar motherboard.  Could Biostar be back – I mean entering the enthusiast market?
uTorrent 2.0 to Eliminate the need for ISP throttling . 31:28
uTorrent 2.0 claims to be able to do proper throttling without assistance from your ISP or your QoS router.  While this sounds like a good idea, I question how good it will work.  The idea is that it will scale usage and prevent ISPs from needing to do billion dollar upgrades in order to keep their customers served.  End result = slower torrent speeds.

Netflix streaming coming to PS3 next month 36:23
Netflix will no longer be an Xbox 360 exclusive feature.  Sony has wrangled a deal with Netflix to start streaming video from the online rental service.  It is good for PS3 owners and I don’t see anyone complaining about this – other than Microsoft.

Why Motorola’s Droid is a sure fire hit: Analysis 38:05
The Motorola Droid is live in the wild and it seems to be a big hit.  I still think the iPhone has a huge edge with the iTunes App Store, but it seems like the Droid is still a winner.  It’s one of the first positive Motorola devices we’ve seen for a long time.  I would like to try one of these out but it seems to be Verizon only at this point.

100” multitouch Table Exbits Exploring the Electromagnetic Spectrum 43:36
This is all NCIS, Minority Report and Sci-Fi, but it looks pretty cool and has some great features.  Apparenlty this device supports up to 80 simultaneous touch points.  Very cool demo’ing the electromagnetic spectrum.  Youtube feature here.

Kudos to Ben for mentioning the Edge card  ;) Those things are life savers for dealing with really long trips. The DSI LL seems like a rehash of the DSI. I wonder how many more of these Nintendo will release until the true next generation of DS. The business strategy behind these rehashes is genius though and ensures a wide range of games available for the handheld in general.

Magny-cours looks nice for server usage, but I really wish AMD would hurry the heck up with Thuban already instead of releasing higher clocked Phenom IIs to compete with the i5 and i7.

I think the next gen DS will probably depend alot on when the next gen PSP comes out, this article over at Eurogamer has a bit on what Nintendo and Sony might have up their sleeves

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-ds2-vs-psp2-article

Both companies right now seem content to just modify their handhelds (and as long as people are buying them they'll keep doing it). I sorta think its a game of chicken and each are just waiting for the other to make the first move before they release their "next-gen handheld"
I realized I was dyslexic when I went to a toga party dressed as a goat.
