Windows Phone Revenue Update
« on: April 30, 2017, 08:01:06 pm »
Microsoft has always struggled in the mobile market and while they tried to hang in for a while, it continues to look like they should just throw in the towel and call it quits. I personally think the platform has a lot of merit and is in fact super functional. With devices that support Continuum - such as the Elite X3, they have a product that no one else really has at this point. It's solid, but with a revenue of $5 million this past quarter - when compared to $1.4 billion two years ago, it's really over.

During Microsoft's earnings call today, its chief financial officer, Amy Hood, acknowledged this, stating that there was "no material phone revenue this quarter". The outlook for the next few months is similarly bleak, as Hood predicted "negligible revenue from Phone" in the coming quarter.Source: Neowin
