In order to prevent spambots from registering on this forum due to open exploits in PHP, would it be possible to install an alpha-numeric registration code?
Spambots can't get past the registration unless the code is entered manually. When I had some PHP portals/forums running, I had to install it.

I don't think they are spambots registering for the forum, I could be wrong, but in the past year we've maybe had 2 or 3 people register just for the purpose of spamming
however, entering in an alpha-numberic code isn't a big deal, and it might prevent more spam in the future

I love your post lock comments Fujitsu :funny
I don't know if it would be necessary to have a registration code, but it couldn't hurt anything.

I'll look into it and see if it's a possibility. We've had spambots try and register, but because you must activate your registraton through a confirmed email address, they don't actually activate their accounts.

I have updated the site with the alpha-numeric registration capability and added more subtle features to the registration process. Other than the code, you likely won't notice the changes, but this will help keep bots and spammers from registering. That was a good suggestion and hopefully it will keep the forum clean for a while.

I just laugh at people who think spamming forums is going to get them more business, it just makes people mad, doesn't make them want to give you their money
But whatever, I guess everyone needs a hobby

Awesome. Now to wait and see if anymore attempts are made ;)
