Title: Call of Duty
Post by: VE6JHC on January 26, 2004, 01:52:08 PM
Picked up Call of Duty over the weekend....Very similar to Medal of Honor. I am having some artifacting problems in this game with my 9800 running the Omega 3.7 drivers (setup works fine for 1942). I updated to the new Omega 4.10 but they were not giving me any 3D acceleration....REmoved and tried the ATI 4.10....I now get 3D acceleration but after playing the game for about 30 min I would get a crash....No patches out yet for this game....I would hold off buying the game until there is an update/patch as there are some issues with this 1.0 version.....

P.S. One nice feature of the game is is you shoot a team mate in multi player the damage goes to you and not your team mate.

Maybe you should have stuck with your OC'd *speedbinned* 9700 NP! :D  I've played Call of Duty with the omega 3.10's on my 9700 NP @ 9700 Pro specs with no problems at all.  The graphics were beautiful and the gameplay was much better than medal of honor.  I had terrible graphics problems when I was running the omega 3.6's, but the 3.10's had a lot of fixes for Call of Duty.  I don't know why you're having troubles.  Maybe the card's getting too hot?  Or try the omega 3.10's, they seemed to work excellent for me.

I have COD and have beaten it now. I have Radeon 9200 with omega and the only problem i get is the water dissapears if i don't start using safe mode on the game. You might wanna try tech support though you might not get anywhere. I spent a few hours with them and i still had the problem.

Omega 4.1 drivers work with Call of Duty but you must have Fast Writes turned off as well as VPU Recover. Game is very nice to play now!

Glad to here you got it working.  There is nothing more frusterating than spending money on a game that doesn't work.  Enjoy!

I have never experienced any problems with Call of Duty with any drivers on my 9800.   Also what is this speedbinned thingy?  is it a mod or something for a video card?

heh.  ;D  We hassle VE6JHC because he runs the "lower quality" non-pro series of cards and clocks them up to pro spec.  Non-Pro's are cards that could make the stability specs of the Pro series so they dumped them in the "Speed-bin".
