Quick Q&A / Need help with Vista!
« on: June 22, 2007, 08:44:48 PM »
I'm not sure anybody is going to be able to help me, but here goes.  I bought a copy of Vista for my former gaming machine (big recent upgrade!!)  I thought it would be a good idea to familiarize myself with Vista for my work (installing wireless Internet).  So I took the plunge.  Problem is some of my hardware seems incompatible with Vista.  My All-in-One drivers (A7n8x) don't work... Vista doesn't recognize one of the devices associated with the onboard sound card.(401 MSU or something like that).  Neither Nvidia nor Asus is providing support for Vista for this particular board.
Did I just throw away $140??  What can I do?  Perhaps one of you is a genius with hardware drivers/compatibilty issues.  HELP!! :(

General Mayhem / [Frontpage News]Chrome Your Wii

If I was into consoles, I would definitely chrome my Wii.  Does anyone know if there is a similar product for a 98 ford contour?

Operating Systems & Software / Vista Rant
« on: March 30, 2007, 01:48:34 PM »
I appologize if a similar thread is in existence.

I had my first experience with Vista the other day and I HATED it.  I was installing for Wildrose and the customer had a brand new Dell notebook with Vista installed.  All I needed to do was look up the MAC for the wireless connection, but I simply couldn't find the command prompt.  I looked everywhere and couldn't find it.  Finally I ran a search for it and came up with the link that way.
In the process I eventually found the network connections, but that wasn't readily available either.

Perhaps this is just a bad first impression.  I can imagine it wouldn't take but a day or two or perhaps a week to familiarize oneself with the interface, but for the time being, I'm sticking with XP.

Anybody else have any experience with Vista?  Any thoughts?
