Should construct one of these and just keep it at the staff table at all of your events! "Cheaters will be pwned" sign with it..

A couple friends and fellow event hosts from Vancouver brought these nerf guns to the LAN last year:

Hackers have compromised the PlayStation Network and have made off with a ton of user data.  This is bad news for consumers with PlayStation Network accounts as well as for Sony.  MSNBC talks about why this is such a big deal... if losing your credit card information isn't enough.

[blockquote]
With the PlayStation Network, Sony is already admi. . .

Well, the class action law suit has begun... "Welcome to America"

From talking to a few different people the general theme I have heard is "Good, take that PlayStation!" however it is rather unfortunate for the gamer that only has the one rig and is PSN dependent.  Having worked with XBox (Xbox 360) I saw alot of value in the XBL but you'd get the hardcore Playstation fans that mocked how ppl were paying for XBL.. Well, there was a reason we all paid XX amount a month for XBL ..

Here is your fun internet story of the day, over in Georgia (the country) a 75 year old lady has accidentally cut the internet to 3.2 million people while digging for unused copper cables in the ground. Armed with a shovel she was able to cut the "heavily guarded" fiber optic cable and in the process cut off 3.2 million people in 3 different countries. She is now facing up to 3 years in prison and

That's insane!   Something like that happened in Saskatchewan??... a farmer cut one of the main shaw lines and lost it all cause of that.

General Mayhem / [Frontpage News]Nintendo 3DS Warnings

The Nintendo 3DS isn't even released and already Nintendo is issuing warnings that children under the age of 6 shouldn't use it because it might wreck their eyes. This warning which is coming off Nintendo's website probably isn't the greatest marketing tool and might make some people cautious when considering buying a Nintendo 3DS. Head on over to Fox News for more o. . .

Optometrists made mention that 3d games, tv etc etc... could hurt your eyes however the best suggestion was to just take a break ... try telling that to a gamer. Least Nintendo is being responsible (or at least covering their bases).

As we get this show on the road and kick things into gear, we've got a few audio bits to share with you this morning.  It looks like Corsair has expanded their memory line, to power supplies, coolers, cases and now even headsets.  Take a look at the HS1 headset over at TechgageTechReport also has one on their bench[/. . .

very cool - how often do you do this?

LAN & General Gaming / LAN party - Twitter / Facebook accounts
« on: September 25, 2010, 02:43:10 PM »
With more and more LAN groups harnessing the power of social media networks it would be great to be part of those groups as well to stay connected.

If any LAN hosts out there have a twitter account or facebook page share it here!  O0  If you write some gaming blogs etc etc that would be great as well.

The growth of online video sites has prompted nearly 800,000 users last year to cut the cord and give the cable company the boot. This is a big number, however don't feel too bad for the old cable company yet, they've still got 100 Million users that are paying them every month but as more and more people find alternative I'd think the cable companies might want to start taking notice.

With major networks making there shows accessible over the internet it really does seem pointless at times however I do wish more major American stations would open up there access to Canada.

I would imagine that because they are harnessing James Camerons new 3d technology it will really help revitalize the series.

Be interesting to see how many films will be investing that extra dollar using 3d in there attempts of hitting that box office mark like avatar.

The Super Bowl attracts all different kinds of people and some of us just can't wait to check out the commercials.  That is probably one time a year when we don't skip commercials.  If you missed them, I4U has the list of ads that you can enjoy.  Call me old-fashioned, but I like the VW commercial.

I did not notice that commercial, the one with betty white is pretty good as well.

Really the super bowl (besides the football) is about the legendary commercials that get shown. Similar to Bond with beautiful women and new gadgets.
