Quick Q&A / Re: Linksys router givin me toubles
« on: August 14, 2005, 08:54:53 PM »
I to had this problem, Linksys support is magic. What I ended up doing was plugging the computer directly into the modem. I then wrote down the dns server. I then reconnect the network how it should be and went to the network status on my PC. Once that is open you go to properties. That should bring up a new window with a scrolling type menu with 4 options. You select internet protocol and hit properties. This opens yet another window. In this window you change the obtain dns automatically to use this dns. Then you type in the number you previously wrote down  and close the windows. That’s it.

Case Modding & Cooling / Re: Ribbon ~vs~ Round

I read an article not to long ago that tested the improved airflow and cooling claim that comes attached to round cables. They found no difference between the two, interesting, but they still LOOK cooler. Never heard of the data loss thing before.

General Hardware / Re: CPU comparison

It really is amazing how fast technology evolves. Just think how much you would spend to keep up with top of the line stuff only to sell it a few years later for scrap.

Yeah, adding a gig will definitely boost performance it would be the first thing I’d add to that system. “Size does matter.”

General Hardware / Re: Ultra X-Connect PSU
« on: August 14, 2005, 07:30:17 PM »
In my newest system I put in the orange and blue x-connect. It is sweet! It is by far the best power supply I have ever used. There is one problem however, the oversized connecters really don’t fit well in my case. It takes a good amount of effort just to shut the case. Other than that it is awesome.
