Well I used that program and it also says I have the 1800+ but I know I don't. When I got this computer it had an 1800+ and I had that upgraded since then. Recently I talked to D-man at his shop and even he said I have a 2400+ in my computer. I didn't bother mentioning the game stuff because I wasn't sure if it was relevant but I was trying to install Age of Empires III and it said it wouldn't let me install it because my processor does not support SSE.

Quick Q&A / Processor problems
« on: January 02, 2006, 05:58:26 PM »
The other day I was having issues with a game and the first thing I checked was the requirements to make sure I had everything. I went into run and typed dxdiag and all that and when I read what my computer has as a processor it said a different one than what I have. According to it I have a AMD Athlon XP 1800+ when I know I have a AMD Athlon XP 2400+. I was wondering if there was a way to fix this myself? Or am I going to have to take in my computer? It seems to be affecting the game because the error has to do with the processor and the 1800+ does not meet the requirements I need for the game.

I'm not completely sure what I want but I'd like to see:

1. A cell phone.
2. A Fuji s9000 but I can keep dreaming lol
3. Maybe a reply to my applications, that sure would be nice, I really need a job.

Well I don't have DS2 so i won't be able to join in if you do that. I have bf2 and play that now and then, I'd be willing to play that but not quite yet. I don't think i'm ready to play it weekly yet. By the way nice score missileman... i feel so insignificant with my score at the moment lol.

Quick Q&A / Undeletable file
« on: June 30, 2005, 04:10:39 PM »
I was downloading a file to my desktop and the download hit an error and wouldn't finish. I cancelled the download and then tried to delete what there was of the file. When i went to delete it it said it was in use. I checked processes and it wasn't in there and i checked the download screen for firefox (was downlaoding it in firefox) and it wasn't there. I tried going into safe mode to delete it and it said it was in use even then. Is there a way to get rid of it?

I'd have to say that I agree with Nicao almost completely. I've seen may games go down and this is one of them. A few of us are familiar with Total Annihilation. I enjoyed that game quite a bit. I played it on the ent a few times and that didn't last, people would rush their commander into your base, use cheap tactics to replace not having nuclear missiles, and so on. Halo 2 was great for a while. I had fun playing that on XBox Live but after a while these extremely competitive people showed up and took most of the fun outta it. This game is no better and from what I saw in Battlefield 2 i just think it is a desperate attempt by adding extra bells and whistles.

Quick Q&A / Re: Need help with an evil virus
« on: May 05, 2005, 07:01:14 PM »
Well... i managed to get it to stop sending the messages and to stop my computer from crashing by creating a new log in on the computer so i was able to try those out. the first guide i have a problem with because i don't have norton or mcafee or anything... i have a few anti spy-ware programs and up til now they have stopped all of my viruses. i gave the scanner a try and it didn't work either. i might have some one have a look at my computer but thanks though.

Quick Q&A / Need help with an evil virus
« on: May 05, 2005, 04:24:51 PM »
Earlier my cousin accidentaly got a virus on her computer. Suddenly it sent me an automated message on msn with a link... i accidentaly clicked on the link and got the virus. I don't know to much about this virus other than it is not noticed by most virus scanners, it sends automated messages on msn, and it stops a lot of programs from starting. I have tried searching it on the net with no success because there are some similar viruses to it with procedures that didn't work, or i had to buy some program before they'd give me information. My cousin told me that some one at her worked removed it for her but she didn't pay attention so she wasn't able to help me. I was wondering if some one on here could help me. Some stuff that may help are screensaver.scr (file the installed the vrus), http://checkthis.100mbitde.info/ (the site it came from), w32 kelvir or just kelvir (part of what i think the virus name is). please help... be much appreciated.

A little while ago i was moving a file in a network folder onto my computer when all of the sudden it quit doing anything. I went back into the network neighborhood to try it again and all of the folders were gone. I went on the other computers here to see if the folder would appear on them but they wouldn't. I checked the software firewalls on the computers and they are turned off so i tried sharing the folders again and they wouldn't appear on the network. I tried using a ping thing in ms dos (that sounded funny) that bin drinkin told me to try and there was a ping from the other computers. I am not sure what to do so does anyone have any ideas?
