I really did enjoy your daily coverage of CES. And I look forward to the top notch hands on coverage you will be bringing at CeBIT.

That sounds like a good adea. I don't think I played a single game of UT...1999 since the last lanparty... in October..
Count me in!  ;D

Nicao is coming! Happy days Happy days. Hey Nicao, are we going to be playing any grudge matches? :)

And a note on the subscription content. I remember the day when I used to download all my drivers from , and they they changed to a subscription format. I know, I'm cheep when it comes to downloading drivers.

I am looking forward to this years VulcLAN. (Second person registered. Can you tell?)
It is always fun to get together and test my skills against all my comrades. Hey I think I learned how to play Call of Duty a little bit better. The secret is my Psyko Audio 5.1 headset that I won last year! Hearing is half the battle.
The energy Zeus puts into the VulcLAN event is amazing. Glad to see this year Zeus you are getting a little bit of time for shuteye.

What happened to the cool music at the start of the show? Did it get stuck in a snowbank?

Operating Systems & Software / Ubuntu 9.10 is here
« on: October 29, 2009, 08:19:16 AM »
After a successful Windows 7 Launch party at my place last weekend. And getting to see how Windows 7 runs on an older laptop. Time to see how the latest version of Ubuntu 9.10 will work on that laptop.
Download your free Operating System at Ubuntu
Just think, not having to worry about 99.9% of the virus's out there. And still be able to do your emailing, facebook, banking, and web surfing.

I want to thank everyone for coming to the LANParty. I had a good time. Next time I'll have to make sure that "Dead Silence" in Call of Duty 4 is disabled, so that I have a better chance at hearing Zeus coming up behind me. :)

So who do I thank for the umbrella and yellow coloured towel? I think I gained a power bar also.

Good day all.
I should be posting a reminder rather than the announcement. Some of you may have heard. I am having another LANparty this Friday October 23rd and Saturday October 24th. Again it is at my place in the garage (still need to get a little more wood for the stove).
Games this year will be Supreme Commander on Friday, And Call of Duty 4 on Saturday. With a pinch of Unreal Tournament 2004 sprinkled here and there. I have room for about 16-18 people in the garage, and overflow in the house. Tables already setup, just add computer.

And with the Launch of Windows 7 this week. This will also be an official Windows 7 LaunchLAN Party! So the first 10 people get a free Windows 7 tote bag.

And to sum it up:

Who: Everyone I have gamed with at VulcLAN is welcomed
What: Two day Supreme Commander, Call of Duty 4 and Unreal Tournament 2004 LANParty
Where: BoneRak's house in Lethbridge Alberta
When: October 23+24th 2009.
Why: Cause Winters coming, It's the end of the week, I got a set of Psyko audio 5.1 headphones to show off, I'm still green at CoD4 and people like that, and lastly a LANParty is nothing but fun.

Hope to see you in RL (Real Life)

Operating Systems & Software / [Frontpage News]Opera beta 10...
« on: June 04, 2009, 02:49:33 PM »

For those who are a fan of opera *cough* bonerak *cough*
the beta is out for the latest version of Opera. Apparently with a
bunch of new improvements as well as a new look, and the best part of
increased speed and performance. Hopefully this will bring about a
revival of Opera as I have used it before and may start again. Get it all at

   Welcome to Op. . .

Sweeeeeeet! I was just thinking the other day how much I was missing using the content blocker in Opera when I open up hotmail. I am forced with Google Chrome to see the side banner adds, and that sometimes is distracting.

besides maybe a bot waking this thread up..
I switched to Chrome at the start of October just to give it a try. Normally I used Opera. And will you believe it, I am still using Chrome. Not completely sure why, but it might be the splelnig check built into it..

What's Facebook?

I still do not have an account.
I got an ICQ account back when it was the big thing.
I had a yahoo groups account "before" it was yahoo groups.
Remember the good old days when you used to be able to use MSN without all the advertising.
What happened to the good old days of just not using an account instead of deleting it?
Hey did you hear about the latest communications program called XFire? Now your friends can find you online and join the games your playing, without even having to talk to you.. (I'm still liking the XFire)

Nicao, you will be missed.

And 4u2nvme, That's just not fair 8 people versus me! With Nicao gone, you better make it 15 vs 1  >:D

I am looking forward to this event. I already have a bed and breakfast all booked up, and my UnrealTournament 2004 server from my last lanparty is backed up on DVD and ready to roll if need be.

A fun game suggestion may be TrackMainia Nations It is a free download and it works pretty good with just a keyboard (better with gamepad). It runs on just about anything and you don't need a good internet connection to enjoy the game online. This is one of the first Race car games I have played since Need for speed 2, ten years ago. So maybe turn it into a side tourney for a grand prize of a chocolate bar? Or maybe just bragging rights  ;)

I got a server running. Athlon 64 3800+ I think it should be able to handle everyone just fine. Now to get the redirect to work.

Everyone feel free to drop in and say hi if you are not able to game this event.
