I don't know if it still holds true or not but the 9600 GSO used to be the best card for the price vs. PPD.  I'm still living in an apartment with free electricity so...  I'd imagine I'll probably slow down once I see my first electric bill!

Definitely, especially when NCIX were selling them at $40 after MIR a while back! That was a great moment to get a mini folding farm up and running! ;)

I won an EVGA GTX 480 autographed by Jen-Hsun Huang the president of Nvidia in a folding contest.
That's pretty wicked indeed!

on another note, just found this:

That's pretty interesting. The website detected a few unsecure things on my Facebook page. I didn't know that there were that many privacy gaps in a default account.

I stopped folding a while ago. I really couldn't stand the 2D lag I would get when folding with my 9600GSO.

I haven't received anything either. From what I've read in the past, TT usually hold out 4-8 weeks before sending out a prize, so it should be coming anything time soon.

News / Re: [Frontpage News]Trendnet TEW-649UB Mini Wireless N
« on: December 14, 2009, 02:52:48 PM »
Mini adapters such as these lose a lot of signal strength with distance. I have a Edimax EW-7711UMn and I was expecting it to have a better signal than my older D-Link DWL-G122 because the Edimax had the added wireless N support. The distance between the USB adapter and the router (Edimax BR-6324nL) was quite large though (probably 20 meters, two floors down through atleast 6 wood walls). Long story short, the Edimax barely got 2 Mbps while the D-Link got a steady 24 Mbps connection. I suspect that these mini adapters have a smaller antenna.
