General Hardware / Re: Apple iPhone warning proves true

Yeah, it's a reason why I don't like Apple in general. They tend to control their products.

While the company has warned those who have unlocked the iPhone that the latest update would likely break their phones, some users are finding their locked phones broken by the update.

General Hardware / Apple iPhone warning proves true

An Apple software update is disabling iPhones that have been unlocked by owners who wanted to choose which mobile network to use.
Earlier this week Apple said a planned update would leave the device "permanently inoperable".

Thousands of iPhone owners hacked their expensive gadget in order to unlock it for use with other mobile carriers and to run a host of unsupported programs.

There are also reports of the update causing issues with unaltered iPhones.

Oh boy....

I agree. Some people are just too lazy to do the research and to find that you can actually disable it. But hey, people like that give jobs to tech support I guess...

Plextor drives are usually more expensive than the norm, yet they've been having many issues on various new models. I say stick with LG for drives; they've been going smooth for some time now.  O0

And for media, usually go with Verbatim. Taiyo Yuden is suppose to be the best, but then you will have to know media codes and stuff because not all Taiyo Yuden media are good.

That's good to hear. I heard that the new 7K1000 from Hitachi are very quiet. Out of curiosity, did you try enabling "Automatic Acoustic Management" via Hitachi's Feature Tool? If the HDD supports it, that is. It's suppose to make the drive even quieter. Maybe the drive came with it pre-enabled. :)

1000GB! That's a lot of disc space! How was accoustic performance of the hard drive? I have an older Hitachi and it's a bit louder than other HDDs. I hope they improved it by now.

Not eligible  :tickedoff:

Oh... I guess I'll have to forward this competition to my relatives in the United States so they can enter for themselves, or for me.  ::)

Oh! That computer is very pretty. The base looks sort of impracticle and weak though.
The contest is as simple as registering and writing an article. I might give it a shot on the weekend. Thanks!
