[Frontpage News]Starforce Stuff!

Looks like the term 'Administrator' is becoming meaningless if Starforce copy protection is going to have this much control of your PC. Stories about Starforce continue to pop up around the net and whether true or not, they're still worth looking into. I bought a game that had Starforce on it once. Luckily upon returning home, I checked the Starforce "infected list" and sure enough it was on there. Needless to say, I returned the game un-opened.

I had an issue back in the day where my drives were getting set to PIO mode on me and I couldn't switch them to DMA, only thing I could really do was a format and reinstall to get it back the way it was. I'm wondering if I had got affected by this.

That sounds very possible, especially if the reformat fixed the problem.  That is just lame though.  Take a look at Starforce list of affected games by using the main search function on our website.  You will find a link to the list.

Yeah the only thing is, I don't remember what I may have had installed at the time as it was probably a couple years ago now. But the list is good for future reference.
