Bargin bin game with a plague
« on: July 12, 2006, 12:20:50 PM »
Bought the game Pariah for $8. It's on the unreal engine so I though how could I lose. Then I scanned your site to see if anyone played it. and you had a warning on the copy protection.

Now what to do:
[A:] Return the $8 game
[B:] Install it and hope for the best
[C:] get other users input
[D:] Install it on a windows Visa computer in the mean time  (then I can't return it)
[E:] steam off the copyright sticker, install the game, play it, return it and get my $8 back. Oh and copy the CD just in-case I want to play it again.

You could always take it back and make a big fuss about how you won't support a company who uses copy protection so extreme that it ruins computers

However, I'm sure the kid a Future Shop won't give a rip, and the company obviously doesn't care if you buy their game for 8 bucks or not

But you'd have 8 bucks in your pocket, burning a hole, until you come across the next bargin bin

LOL, I have an idea have you any buddies with a skeet shooter?? Could be the best 8 bucks you have spent then see if you can take it back, just tell them that you installed the game and this is what happened, offer to bring in the cd-rom and say something about this copyright protected cd's are getting bad....      O0

Same thing happened to me a while back.  'cept mine wasn't a bargain bin game it was a full price game.  For some reason, before I installed it I decided to check the starforce list and sure enough, there it was.  I just took it back and got my $30 back.  Didn't have any trouble returning it either.  No biggie.  In my opinion if it has starforce on it, it's not worth your time.
