It sounds like they are getting irritated that HD-DVD is doing so well.  Either format has issues, and Toshiba has been offering free movies with their players for a while.  It's amusing to see Sony doing the same thing.

Yeah, HD-DVD seems to have to top so far, but in the end both formats are going worse than expected. It might take much more time for one to win than I expected. Ah well, for now, I'll continue to stick with my usual DVDs.  :smitten:

Is it just me, or is there not any way that prevents someone from buying a Blu-ray player, then returning it but submitting the receipt and getting 5 free movies? If I'm right I think your going to see alot of Blu-ray movies for sale on ebay...

Your supposed to send in the original UPC code from the product and the store might not be so happy to return a product with the UPC missing.
