[Frontpage News]GeCube X1950 Pro
« on: July 06, 2007, 09:35:21 AM »

3DGameMan pulls off a written review about the X1950Pro from GeCube.  While this card doesn't offer DX10 support, it does provide better gaming performance that the recently release HD 2400 and HD 2600 cards from AMD.  Sometimes older can be better. . .

x1950Pro video card is an excellent product based of the tried and true x1xxx series cards from AMD. The included cooler only t. . .

yepp... agreed! i bought a x1950 pro from sapphire recently, its much quicker than the HD2600XT and even quicker than the Geforce 8600GTS. and compared to the Geforce 7600GT which i had before, the graphics are somehow nicer, too. the only drawback is that is has no dx10 support, but i can live with that. there are not many DX10 games available yet, so i think buyers should wait until there are good mid-range DX-10 offers on the market.

Indeed, "new" doesn't always mean better performance with everyday games that still use older technology  :)

I'm still working on grabbing an 8600GT/GTS for comparison purposes, but I haven't been able to find anyone generous enough to drop one our way.  I'll keep you posted.
