If you noticed that BCCHardware.com was down over the weekend, here's why.  Hacktards.  Apparently people have nothing better to do that to cause grief, trouble, headaches and stress for other people.  They are kind of like Osama and perhaps should share the same fate.  I'm not saying that I want to see hackers hang, but I wouldn't mind reading about it on the news.

Hopefully they left some tracks behind so they can be reported to the authorities.

  I managed to get an IP before I wiped the server.  However if these guys are good enough to hack an entire datacenter then I doubt that IP is from their machine.  It'll point to some schmo's unsecured wireless  router.  I have some log files that I can go through for curiousities sake though.

Machines running older versions of Fedora were exploited.  Fedora 5+ was safe from this exploit, but we weren't notified of any vulnerability - and apparently neither were all of the other clients running dedicated servers with older versions of Fedora.  I guess Linux isn't perfect after all . . .
