PIV numbers

Here are some benchmark numbers for my computer....
PIV 3Ghz
1 Ghz of Ram (PC2700 in two banks using dual channel)
40 GB WD JB 7200 HD
ATI 9700 (running at non pro settings)

Sandra 2003
CPU -Drystone 9129 MPS
         Wetstone 2579/5713 Mflops
Ram -4302 MB/s
HD - 29709

3D2003
4460.......(I scored 3985 with this card and my XP1800)

I hope to crack 5000 in 3D2003 by jacking up the video card. Video driver used was the Cat 3.6


All testing was done using my standard XP Pro setup with Norton Antivirus etc running.

Not bad at all!  Especially with your card running at stock 9700np speeds.   Are you running your RAM @ 166FSB and your CPU @ 200FSB?  I bet some kickbutt ram would really help you rock.  Still 4+GB/sec ain't bad.   Nice. ;)

My plan is to upgrade my ram to a pair of PC3200 512 mb sticks and add a pair of the 10K RPM SATA drives in Raid.....

I like your idea of the dual 10K SATA drives on RAID  :D Thems are nice.  Yeah some good pc3200 makes quite the difference.

I do miss my old raid setup....When I was running my XP1800 I had a pair of 7200 Maxtor HD with  2 megs of cache and I was scoring 40K in the hard drive tests.....Now with a better HD (WD 7200 JB drive with the 8 mb cache) but not raided I lost like 11K!!! Howdy Duty was telling me about his SATA raided numbers and I have to get some soon.

I am still using a RAID 0 setup, and with SP4 MS actually put HD performance where it should be.  I've scored over 50K, with a set of WDJB 40GB drives.  At this point, I would hate to live without RAID 0.

Updated numbers.......

Switched my ram for a pair of 512 PC3200 and my 9700 for a 9800......I scored 5738 in 3D2003 and 287 in Nicos UT2003 benchmark.
