I have been having alot of trouble with this printer.  It is always indicating that there is a paper problem but there isn't.  I can't get the red light to go off and make it print.  I have tried everything.  Every once in awhile if I keep shutting the paper drawer I will get it to work. I would not recommend this printer to anyone.  It does not print labels or envelopes, or print pictures very well.

What model of Samsung printer is it?

Also how long have you had it?

Sounds like there is a sensor on the paper tray that may not be functioning correctly or is moved out of place. I would recommend that you find the sensor for the paper tray and check to see that it is clean etc.

I was kinda thinking maybe the printer cartridge was replaced with a non factory one... I had a lexmark that didn't like after market ones and gave me a lot of problems. including so called out of paper red lights.. Might be nice to find out what type of printer we are dealing with...  I would also have to agree check the sensor.. might have a little piece of junk on it...not closing contact or worn paper tray contacts....
