hack your Canon point and shoot

Here is a great article on lifehacker that shows you how to hack your canon point and shoot camera to do things like shoot in raw mode, raise your shutter speed to 1/25,000 of a second, and a whole bunch more.
http://lifehacker.com/387380/turn-your-point+and+shoot-into-a-super+camera
This gets me thinking, we should have a general mods forum for all the hardware mods and hackery we do / come across.

This is a very interesting article, especially since I've got a canon camera just like the one in the article....
Have you tried it?

I did get it working on my S3 IS, however i was using a cheap, no name SD card, which took quite a while to write to when shooting raw (15 secs per pic). I'll pick up a faster SD card and see how much the performance jumps.

Thinking of picking up a Canon SD1000 and will definitely give this a shot if I do.

I've got the SD1000, really nice camera, nice and small and it takes good pictures.
I tried out a bunch of camera's before settling on this one, its pretty handy

The SD1000 is amazing for the price. I recently got mine from Staples for $130, and am really enjoying it as an easy-to-use point and shoot. I am going to give the hack a shot, definitely!
