Well its been a slow week here at BCCHardware, unfortunately the news in coming in real slow, so how about we take a little stroll down memory lane?

. . .

3 Years Ago (2005)

The year is 2005, the Month is May, the New England Patriots are the Super Bowl Champions, the NHL has canceled the entire 2005-2006 season, let's take a look what was making the tech news:

AMD Sempron vs. Intel Celeron was the choice for users one a budget, motherboards.org was covering the story.

The brand new ATI Radeon X800 XL 512MB Video card was launched, with the title "How Much is Enough?", well, looking back 3 years, it appears the X800 wasn't enough..., A funny subnote on this article, they are comparing the X800 XL to the "New" Geforce 6800, which was retailing for $900 dollars at the time of this article....Wow

SATA II HDD's had just been launched, although not many companies were producing them yet, this article is all about the big 250GB SATA II drive from Hitachi

Well, I'm not quite that dated to be using a Celeron or Sempron processor, but I'm actually still using an old X800 video card, except mine is only a 256 mb, it works for me and I'm happy with it.

In my main workstation I had an AGP x850XT for a few years, but I recently gave it away and am now "temporarily" using a Radeon 9800 Pro

I'm in the process of upgrading to get rid of this AGP, but unfortunately I've got so much on this system that its a slow process to upgrade
