Just wondering, based on the beta Half Life 2 benchmarks as well as current performance vs price.

I'm pretty sure ATI will have my business.  It seems lately that any Nvidia card I have played with generally has some issues with certain games, performance isn't quite there, and way overpriced compared to the ATI cards.  Plus the ATI cards are a heck of a lot smaller than the Nvidia cards, and quieter too.

I guess I will be the Oddity here I will be always stick with Nvidia.  Once the Det 50 are released and the revised 5900's are annouced I think it will make big differents in price and performance.

The release of the NV36 & NV38 should also make a Large Differents.

I've really like my 9700, I'm going to stick with it for a while, and I will see what happens, cause I really don't care what name it says, just what it costs and how it performs

when I had my GeForce 2Ti I thought I would never switch to ATI, but then I did, and it probably won't be the last time I switch brands

Well It also make large differents for me cause I can get Nvidia card cheap I run a small computer repair business on the side and I have a deal with a another shop.  He supplies me with the cards (At his cost) and I buy small items thru him. (Fans, Round cables and other items) Works well for both of us.  But either way I wont be buying another video card till I can pick up a Opteron without spending $1000.  Or when my current Gainward dies.

I like my ati card now (9700non pro updated bios to pro spec) and seems to do the games I got now. Biggest bang for the buck i think, right now.. Im not a person that cares for name brand stuff if it works then i want it..simple

If I didn't care about $ then a 9800XT or  an 5900 Ultra would do. But 9800XT would be better for the price. If price was an issue then a 9600 Pro or a 9700/9500 non-Pro so I can upgrade the BIOS to pro.

I just upgraded to a 9800pro not to long ago for a great price($280) so I'll be keeping this card till I upgrade the complete system (AMD64) when the prices come down to normal people prices............

Also by then they will probably have a different socket for the newer chips coming out from what I hear, plus a workstation Windows OS that will support 64 bit, until then its not worth it.  Although I did have a chance to play with an Athlon 64 3200 at work.  It was fast, no questions, but to see a real difference, it will be worth the wait.

Nvidia. When a game bugs out because of a driver, they listen and fix it. Unlike ATI, where you have to wait till the game becomes obselete before they decide to fix it.

ATI fixes their game bugs with every driver update, which is about every month. Nvidia puts out updates a few times a year at best. ATI has far better performace across the board and the drives are more stable and they don't cheat.............

LOL wow you must never owned a nvidia then Death they update often.  I guess when you have had  nothing but great nvidia cards and drivers you get to like them more.  Actaully both companies were accused of cheating.
