does anyone know of a good hd tester program?? got a old hd that I wanna test out, so I've stuck it in my main rig and was looking for a program that will run it hard and see if its still any good

Why not just download the free software from the hard drive manufactor? It has a bunch of tests that will tell you if the drive is error free and can even bring the drive bac to its factory state (removes all formatting etc).

To check for bad sectors and such, I'd recommend a complete scan with Partition Magic, or even Ranish Partition Manager.

An advance sector test should show you if anything is physically wrong with the drive.
