Here we go, someone had a lot of time on their hands

http://www.pajiba.com/miscellaneous/the-top-500-video-games-of-all-time.php

The Top 500 Video games of all time.....

Sorry to ruin the surprise, but Half Life 2 gets the #1 spot?

I doubt everyone will agree with that...

Half-Life 2 is epic.  It was revolutionary and one of the first games that were scripted enough you didn't need to fire a gun - way ahead of Call of Duty: Black Ops...

I enjoyed it and even Xena had fun playing through all of the first two episodes... I have no idea why they killed Episode #3.  Ah well.

Here are my observations:

Goldeneye for N64 at 43? Everyone had this game, one of the first multiplayer games that was huge

Myst (not in the top 50) - Myst was pretty groundbreaking and everyone played it at least once

Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare at 29 - Not saying this was a bad game, but how did it get that high?

Portal #4? Seriously? It's an interesting and original concept for a game, but the same also applies to many indie games out there. Overrated game honestly.

I was a bit surprised a RTS game didn't make it on the top 50 (Starcraft, Command and Conquer)

Also another one I thought would have been World of Warcraft (maybe because its online it doesn't count or something).

I guess with any list though there are always going to be debate, this one just had some really odd choices in my opinion.
