I got my system to overclock even more
« on: May 29, 2003, 01:25:33 AM »
Well I thought I would just share that I now have my Athlon XP 2700 + T-Bred running at 200 FSB, before all that I could do was about 180.  Then after I did a BIOS update, I lowered the multiplier by one notch and was able to get another 20 out of the FSB to get to 200.  So now the chip is OC'd to 2.4 Ghz stable.  On a side note I was able to play with one of the new P4 chips.  I did a quick little review on it. I was able to get a 800 Mhz OC with stock cooling.  If you want you can check it out at www.lobbdogg.com under the reviews section.  Once I was able to push it about as far as it would go the system was running at 272 FSB x 4.  So close to 1100 FSB.  :o

Overclocking is good.  I ran my p4 2.0a up to 2.8 with standard air cooling on an Abit Sr7-8x.   Now that I have it watercooled, I run at 2.4ghz all the time.  I haven't tried to push above 2.8 though as my motherboard's fsb is not proported to be all that stable about 150mhz.   That new springdale chipset is sure looking to be a great deal for the price.  I will probably try to overclock my 9700np once I make sure it is stable and get some watercooling on it.

Life is a toilet.  As soon as you get caught up, someone flushes you again.
