Apple may hear consumers much, but the are helping people with hearing impairments. They have partnered with a Danish company called GN ReSound, to make the LiNX. The LiNX is essentially a hearing aid that connects through a Bluetooth-like technology to an iPhone using the 2.4 GHz band. This device will enhance hearing and allow those with hearing imparements to enjoy their music.
Most hearing aids use intermediary transmitters, but LiNX's Bluetooth-like technology can communicate directly with a smartphone. The hearing aid connects to an iPhone using 2.4GHz wireless technology, which consumes less battery life. The communication process between the two devices is similar to how smarthingyches and activity trackers relay information with smartphones.
