A nice little overclock
« on: February 22, 2005, 10:32:35 PM »
I was doing some ram benchmarks with my new processor and decided to see how high it would go.  I lowered the ram speed so it wouldn't interfere.  With only a minor voltage increase and stock cooling I was able to take my 3000+ from 1800 to 2520mhz.  I didn't do any benchmarks or stability tests, but it did start windows fine.  Here's a pic.

Wowzers  :o  I'm impressed, the most I can get my 3200+ up to is about 2.22 ghz stable, after that it don't boot into windows anymore.  And I've bumped up the voltage too.  Good show.

I was there when he pulled off that overclock.  I was as giddy as a 7 year old school girl.  That is an impressive chip and board for sure.  A FSB of 280 is nothing to sneeze at for sure.

Very nice indeed, the furthest I got my 3500+ NewCastle core up when playing around, and not touching voltages was 2450 MHz from 2200. After that it actually did someting to my raid array, and I ended up having to reload windows. Haven't done much with it since that first day I got it.

Nice overclock

That is crazy! I wish I could do that :(. But I’m just a novice at this over clocking thing. Kudos and good work.
