Android App Pick - Steam

Application: Steam
Happy Family/Presidents Day/Long weekend app readers! This is the 20th app being written and read as you download other apps or spend time with your family. Many of you hardcore or softcore gamers out there may have come across a little platform called Steam. As it is the long weekend, sometimes there are sales on games, and sometimes you may not be at your computer all day to catch a great deal or even say "hi" to your Steam buddies. Well look on the bright side, there is now an official Steam app.
Steam is the mobile/app version of the desktop client Steam. This is brought to you by Valve Corporation. You can Steam chat with your buddies, search for games on Steam and even purchase a game just like you would on the desktop version. Steam Friends app is limited by only letting you view what games your friends are playing, where as Steam gives you more freedom. The downside of all this immersion in Steam is that it's a battery hog if you are using it for long periods of time.
Another thing if you want to search for a free game on Steam you can - except it will say that you already own it. In reality I guess if it's free you do technically "own" it, but let's be real - Steam only wants you to purchase games that make them money. I guess you would automatically download the free games anyhow when you got back to your computer. Steam for Android is a good app to have when your in a pinch for game info or to chat, and it's pretty cool when you are stuck away from your computer at Aunt Betty's during a long weekend Steam sale. Purchase a game using the Steam app, and it will be ready to download on your gaming rig!
Check the app out here. Happy app'ing!
