Testing and Final Thoughts

My testing method for a case or heatsink fans is pretty straight forward. I simply install them in a case and see if there is any noticeable difference. After trying the NZXT Enthusiast fans in several different setting and positions, I discovered that the low and medium settings are barely noticeable. In fact they are not as loud as the stock case fans they replaced and move a little more air through my case. The high setting was definitely noticeable however. It was loud enough to drown out all the other fans in the case, but it did move a lot more air. If you are not worried about fan noise when they are set on high or are over-clocking your rig, this is not a problem.

I found the NZXT Enthusiast fans - the FX-120LB and FX-140LB - to be high quality. The three position fan speed switch is unique and very handy when setting up the air flow in my rig. NZXT does warranty their fans for two years but with the fluid dynamic bearing and a expected life of 35,000 hours. You will not be replacing these fans any time soon. Overall, the NZXT case fans are a very good choice if you are looking to replace any fans in the future. If you are looking for some fan speed control without the use of a fan controller - these fans will make it happen.
