Introduction:
The trend in aftermarket CPU cooling in the recent years has been bigger and bigger CPU coolers for maximum performance, however, there are certain situations where "bigger" just won't work and you need a cooler that can fit into a space where even stock cooling isn't able to. Today we are going to look at a cooler from Evercool which can go places where bigger cooler just can't fit, that cooler is the HPL-815 Low Profile CPU Cooler from Evercool.
Sure it might not have a cool or trendy name attached to it but we're going to see if it's up to the task of keeping a system cool in cramped quarters.
First Impressions:
There isn't a whole lot to be said about the HPL-815, it's a pretty standard cooler overall (remember this is a ~$20 CPU cooler). I'll let the pictures do most of the talking for the rest of this section.
The HPL-815 is a pretty standard cooler as you can see in the pictures below. The real selling point on this cooler is that it's a mere 45mm tall which allows it to be suitable for applications where even stock cooling might not be able to fit into.
The HPL-815 features an 80mm fan which is PWM controlled based on the temperature of your CPU and can run between 800 - 2200 RPM.
As you can also see in the picture above the HPL-815 features 4 heatpipes that contact the CPU directly for "maximum heat conductivity".
So there you go, that the HPL-815 from Evercool, let's move onto the next section to see how this little guy performs.
