The boomCAN Portable Mini Speaker by Scosche comes in handy and is music to your ears!  It reminds me of song lyrics from Toby Mac - “Boomin’ out the stereo system!”  As I had mentioned before, sometimes you don’t want to use your headphone all the time for your music.  When you're in a room - not sitting and your desk, and just want some tuneage, you can easily hook up your device and play it.

I use a headphone extension cable to hook up my headset so it's long enough.  It's handy that I can just hook up the boomCAN to my extender so I don't have to reach around behind my tower and hook things up.  The boomCAN sounds pretty decent for sure, but please keep in mind that I'm not comparing it to regular computer speakers or sub woofers.  It doesn’t have a lot of bass and sounds mildly "tinny" at high volume, but for a $15 portable battery-powered speaker, it still sounds great!   If you need to get even more volume out of the speaker, you can always adjust the volume on your device.  It has a soft "gripped" bottom so it doesn't slide around too much and it would even work great in a vehicle if you were in a pinch and forgot your FM transmitter!  It uses a Lithium-Ion battery that provides up to 7 hours of listening time and that should be enough to get you through most days.  When charging, the light on the boomCAN turns red and turns blue when it’s done like dinner!!

The boomCAN Portable Mini Speaker by Scosche is a great product to have and own.  It comes in handy for so many situations and places.  The boomCAN is easy and nice to put away and carry around thanks to short cords and a soft carrying pouch.  The cords are small enough to fold up and put away and everything fits nice and snug in the pouch.  I do wish the boomCAN was shipped in a set of two instead of just one.  Still, this is not a bad product that is able to make some noise at a great price of $14.99!  If you ever get a chance to get your hands on the boomCAN you’ll be thankful that you did!

The build quality is pretty decent on the boomCAN although the cords feel a bit cheap.  I'm concerned that over a lot of packing and unpacking you'll end up buggering up a cord and need to replace them.  The accessory bundle was pretty good and I do think that it's great that you can use your own cables for audio and charging as they used standard stuff.

The audio quality of the boomCAN is not bad, but it won't hurt your ears or blow you away.  For such a small speaker, it does pack quite a bunch - just enough to allow you to share your music with your friends.

  • takes up less space
  • easy to put away
  • sounds good and clear
  • great price

  • Doesn't come with two in a box
  • Not tons of bass
