Alienware X51 Desktop

If you are looking for a decent gaming rig that can be packed to a LAN in a backpack, but you want a little more power than the average laptop, check out the Alienware X51 over at HardwareHeaven .  This slightly-bigger-than-an-xbox system has a lot of features that make it worth bearing the Alienware name - including a Core i7 CPU and a GTX 555 graphics card.  It's not the fastest system a guy can build, but it certainly looks pretty wicked.

Looking more closely at some of the key components in the system we find that Alienware have supplied the system with an Intel Core i7-2600 CPU, clocked at 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) and install this on a custom motherboard which uses the H61 chipset. In terms of memory we have 8GB of DDR3-1333 (Hyundai) with timings of 9-9-9-24.
