Android App Pick - BlackBerry Messenger (BBM)

Application: BlackBerry Messenger (BBM)

Good day Android App readers! We're at the beginning of December and are in the middle of a blizzard at BCCHardware HQ. Today is Cyber Monday and some of you may be recovering from the crazy Black Friday weekend sales! I did get a chance to go to the city and pick up some Google Play Cards that have landed in Canada. Speaking of Canada, our App Pick this comes from the Canadian company Blackberry!

NFC Settings Contact Area

With Christmas coming, it's a great time of the year to connect with family and to send and receive text messages. BlackBerry users will have no issues using this App, but for you newbies - including me, you can now enjoy BBM for Android. If you were a BlackBerry user and switched to Android - but still missed the way you used to message. It's back.

BlackBerry users will find BBM for Android very familiar but for those that want to try it out, here's the deal. It was a bit tricky to understand how to add contacts easily as the BlackBerry Messenger works by using PINs instead of phone numbers. Once you create an account, you get your own PIN. You can share it to your social media networks, invite by email, SMS, or if you know your friend's PIN, you can add them directly.

Chat Chat Options Emoticons

Once you're in, you can start chatting away, sending attachments, emoticons, group chats as well. If the app is running there will be a BBM icon in your notification tray. A red * will show you have a message waiting. BBM lets you know if your message is delivered and read. This app is free in the app store and is our pick of the week.

Keep Calm and BBM on!
