Android App Pick - Google Play Music
Application: Google Play Music (All Access)
Hey there! It's been quite the day and evening on this side of the world and I think my fingers smoking from all the typing I've done today. Apple's WWDC event kicked off and now that we've got that covered, it's time to get the "after party" started. We'll crank up the tunes and pump up the beat! I never thought much about it before, but Google Play Music is an App in the Play store, and why not give it some credit where credit is due. It used to be pretty lame and limited, but with a recent update here in Canada and in other parts of the world, it's got a lot better. It may sound simple, but it's worth spending a bit of time on as it seems to just work like it should! Get ready, make a playlist and get your groove on.
It is often hard to find a good source of music to stream that doesn't have a bunch of commercials. Since Google introduced their All Access music service here in Canada last month, I've been using a lot. Zune unfortunately, is dead or has moved to Xbox Music. It has some issues and hasn't been what I was hoping so I've been looking for a better alternative. Lately, Google Play Music has been my favorite music app. The first month is free and then you'll have to pay $7.99 a month for unlimited commercial-free streaming. You can also store 20,000 of your own music in the cloud and stream it anywhere.
You can download everything or buy songs individually that are DRM-free. Unfortunately, you can't use your Google Play cards and will need a credit card. You can use Play Cards for song purchases though.
As Hedley says, "I put my headphones on and go, na na na na na..."
